#7 of Helpful Tips For You And Your Pet \u2013 First Aid For Your Pet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Day #7 of Helpful Tips For You And Your Pet \u2013 First Aid For Your Pet<\/p>\n<p>At least once in your pet\u2019s life, he or she is going to become ill, or have a run in with something dangerous.\u00a0 We\u2019d like to provide some helpful First Aid Tips for your pet.\u00a0 This might be helpful to print out and post on your refrigerator or inside a kitchen cabinet to have for reference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day #7: <em>First Aid For Your Pet<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before we share these tips with you, you should <em>always consult your veterinarian<\/em> should anything harmful happen to your pet!\u00a0 He or she knows what is the absolute best for your pet and no shortcuts should be taken for your furry friend\u2019s health.<\/p>\n<p>However, we do have some suggestions and tips that can help calm your pet before your need to take him to the vet should he run into any of these scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>Cuts, bites, puncture wounds<\/strong>, etc. should be <em>gently<\/em> cleaned with warm water.<\/p>\n<p>-If you think your pet may be experiencing <strong>heat stroke<\/strong>, move your pet to a cool and quiet area offering plenty of water.\u00a0 Symptoms include uncontrollable panting, collapse, blank stare and sometimes unconsciousness.\u00a0 Remember to <strong>never leave your pet in a parked car when it is warm out!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-If your pet experiences a <strong>car accident<\/strong>, he or she will probably be in shock.\u00a0 Keep him quiet, warm and stop any bleeding that may happen.\u00a0 <em>Immediately<\/em> take your pet to the vet using a blanket or board to get him there.<\/p>\n<p>-Pets can often get <strong>stung by a bee or wasp<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you see the stinger, take it out.\u00a0 Then wrap the affected area with a cool damp cloth.\u00a0 Usually your pet will recover somewhat quickly from a bee\/wasp sting but if he doesn&#8217;t, call your vet immediately.<\/p>\n<p>-If your pet has been <strong>burned<\/strong>, apply cold water to the affected area and call your vet.<\/p>\n<p>-If you think your pet may be been <strong>poisoned<\/strong>, CALL YOUR VET IMMEDIATELY!\u00a0 Your vet will be able to coach you over the phone while you get your pet ready to visit the vet.\u00a0 Try to find out what poison your pet ingested, how much was ingested, when it was ingested and so forth.\u00a0 The ASPCA has a 24 hour Animal Poison Control line you can call at (888) 426-4435.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211;<\/strong>If your pet seems to be experiencing <strong>eye problems<\/strong>, consult your vet.\u00a0 There may be something lodged deep into your pets eye that needs to be removed by a veterinarian.\u00a0 The sooner you visit the vet the better \u2013 eyes are extremely delicate in animals too and you don\u2019t want your pet losing his eye or going
